November 2010: Bangkok – the “longest” city in the world

With 168 letters, the official Thai name for Bangkok is the longest place name in the world. Bangkok has around seven million inhabitants and is the political, business and cultural center of Thailand – and, from November 30 to December 4, also the center of the “implantology world”: Dr. Bergmann will take part in an international conference in Thailand as a speaker.

November 2010: Dr. Bergmann – Guest Professorship in Pretoria

Pretoria – official capital and one of the leading college towns in South Africa. Dr. Bergmann is taking over a guest professorship at the Universiteit van Pretoria (University of Pretoria) in the Department of Parodontology and Oro-maxillary Surgery.

 

November 2010: Need to Get away from it All?

From October 28 to November 4 the tourist island Fuerteventura was transformed into a “continuing education island”: With over 20 international dental speakers, the “20th Symposium on Regenerative Techniques in Medicine and Odontology” was one of the continuing education highlights of 2010. Dr. Bergmann was able to pass on his experience in the treatment of complex cases to his colleagues in lectures and in workshops.

November 2010: Implantological Training in Viernheim

As the official training partner of the DGOI (the German Association of Oral Implantology), our practice is hosting a so-called “Curriculum” on November 26 and 27, where Dr. Bergmann will introduce the praxis of implantology to 18 dentists with presentations and a live OR.

October 2010: Eurosymposium 2010 – Training for implant specialists

“Opportunities, limitations and perspectives in implantology” – from 24 – 25 September implantologists met at a training course for specialists: Complex questions in implantology were discussed under the guidance of an experienced team of guest speakers, also including Dr. Bergmann, and forward-looking solutions were proposed.

October 2010: East meets West

At the Japanese Society of Oral Implantology meeting held 17 – 22 September, Dr. Bergmann had the opportunity to report to 3,000 Japanese colleagues on the status of implant research in Europe and to present the practical application of innovative treatment concepts. It was almost 40 years ago that the Japanese Society of Oral Implantology declared its commitment to developing dental implantology. Professional dialogue between specialised scientists and experienced practitioners has been the focus from the very beginning.

April 2010: Almost 10,000 km separate Viernheim in the state of Hesse und Chiba near Tokyo.

However, there was no “distance” apparent when D.D.S, Ph.D Toshihiro Hara, Head of the Dental Clinic in Chiba, was a guest in our practice. From the first moment on it was obvious what connected us: passion for modern dentistry without compromise.
Under guidance from Dr. Bergmann and accompanied by our practice team, Dr. Toshihiro Hara enjoyed a special kind of “intensive training”: One week long, Dr. Toshihiro Hara studied implant therapy in our practice – from patient consultation to 3D implantation through to live surgery. “For me as an implantologist - a real inspiration!”, Dr. Toshihiro Hara summed it up.

April 2010: Medical team from South Africa - as guests in Viernheim

While the attention of the entire football world turns to South Africa, Viernheim took centre stage for a team of South African dentists: 18 implant specialists from South Africa were guests in our practice to look over Dr. Bergmann's shoulder during a live operation.

March 2010: 19 and 20 March: Dr. Bergmann as a speaker at the "World Symposium" in Barcelona

As an international expert forum, the DENTSPLY Friadent World Symposium has now become one of the most important congresses for sharing ideas and experience in dental implantology worldwide.
"Perfect results - even in complex cases" – on the main podium in front of 2,500 specialists from across the world, Dr. Bergmann presented safe and clinically successful treatment solutions and practically relevant innovations in implantology.
In a 2-hour planning workshop Dr. Bergmann introduced his international colleagues to the possibilities offered by three-dimensional computer-aided treatment planning - a technique we have used in our practice with great success for some time now.
With two scientific contributions, Dr. Bergmann's team of doctors were represented at the Poster Gallery organised in cooperation with the European Journal of Oral Implantology (EJOI). The Poster Gallery invited an international audience to present scientific results or case studies. Together with our prosthetic specialists and dental laboratories - Busenbender in Viernheim and Lucka in Speyer - we were able to present two extremely complex patient cases.

With almost 25 years of experience in implantology, Dr. Bergmann is much sought-after worldwide as an experienced specialist. Training and congresses expand valuable horizons – especially for younger colleagues.

December 2009: Dr. Bergmann elected as the new Vice President of the DGOI

The DGOI offers high quality training for dentists, dental technicians and auxiliary medical professions. With his implantological experience and competence in training, Dr. Bergmann is set to bring things into motion beyond national borders on the DGOI board. One of the DGOI’s key priorities is to cooperate in the fields of research and practice on the national and international stage.

October 2009: Scientifically sound – participation in current studies

Today implant treatment is one of the most successful and best researched forms of therapy in medicine – approximately 1 million dental implants are placed a year in Germany alone. As one of twenty Germany implant centers, our practice is currently participating in two nationwide studies to enable specific further development of implant therapy.
